Visiting Maynooth: practical information
Maynooth Campus offers ample conferencing and student accommodation, and is easily reached from Dublin.
Air travel
Dublin Airport is 33 km away with a variety of bus routes from the Bus Zone outside the terminal buildings. Buses stop in Maynooth town centre, close to the Glenroyal Hotel, and a short and level walk to the campus. Expressway Dublin Airport bus information (Route 22) is here
Accommodation
Accommodation is not included in your conference ticket and you will need to book it separately.
Extensive student accommodation is available on campus and a discount voucher code for online bookings will be provided in your registration receipt. The conference discounts may be extended either side of the conference dates for you to extend your stay. You will need to arrange this with the campus administrators. Please be aware that North Campus and South Campus are administered separately.
Accommodation on either campus is only a short walk from the TSI Building where all conference sessions and 1-2-1 sessions will take place. Further information is here.
Large hotels locally are the Glenroyal, in the town centre, and the Fairmont Carton House which is a short taxi journey.
A conference 10% discount code for the Glenroyal (where our Gala Dinner is also being held) will be included in your registration receipt and is valid for 20th to 24th August 2026 inclusive. If you plan to extend your stay you are advised to contact the Glenroyal to request an extension to your conference code, which will be at their discretion.
A range of other accommodation options are available in the immediately adjacent town centre of Maynooth.
Train travel
There are frequent trains between Maynooth and Dublin Connolly station. Maynooth is on the main Dublin - Sligo railway route. More information here
Travel options
The campus can be reached by car, train or bus. Unless you have significant mobility needs you will not need a car during the conference if you are staying on campus. Maynooth town centre and the Glenroyal Hotel are easily reached from the campus: a walking times map can be downloaded here.
Car parking on campus will be free during the conference. Location information for Maynooth Campus here
If planning to visit Dublin, be aware that the City Council has traffic management in place to restrict traffic driving through the city centre. Details are on their website. Car parking in Dublin city centre is awkward and expensive. Visitors from abroad should note that our 'drink-driving' limits are strict.
Once conference registration has opened, we will make social media messaging available to registered conference goers who wish to share taxi transport or make other joint arrangements.
Journey planning in Ireland
The Transport for Ireland website and TFI Live app offer a personalised journey planner using all public transport services.
Catering
Refreshments at breaks and lunchtime will be catered and are included in the conference price. Evening meals are not included in the conference ticket. The Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner are booked separately. Various pubs and restaurants in Maynooth within a short walk of the campus serve food. If you are self-catering you will find Aldi, Dunnes Stores and an Asian Supermarket nearby.
Bookshop
Maynooth Bookshop will be operating in the foyer of the TSI Building, North Campus, on Saturday and Sunday. They can also be visited in the town. We regret that it will only be possible to stock the speakers' books.
Other refreshments
Outside of the catered refreshments, coffee and other hot and cold drinks can be obtained at Starbucks in the John Paul II Library Building. North Campus rooms enable self-catering. There are also numerous cafés and restaurants in the town centre within a few minutes' walk.
Taxi services
Taxy, tel +353 (0)16289999 https://taxy.ie/maynooth/ also have an app for your smartphone. Taxis may also be booked using UBER or FREENOW

Maynooth Campus layout
A quiet road divides North Campus from South Campus. The TSI Building, where registration, all plenary, 1-2-1 and parallel sessions, the bookshop, and the 'Rock, Paper... Swords!' podcasters will be located is in the North Campus.
Friday's Welcome Reception will be in the Pugin Hall in the South Campus. Places of interest on and around the campus include Maynooth Castle, the Russell Library, and the Science Museum. A campus map is available to download here.

The conference team have checked the accommodation information on this website with the accommodation providers. We will keep it updated as much as we can.
It is the responsibility of conference delegates to verify the information with the providers and make their own arrangements.
The conference team are unable to deal with individual accommodation queries. These should be directed to the accommodation providers.
